Shau Kei Wan House Service / Mental Health Service
 
Shau Kei Wan House is a purpose-built halfway house for male service users who are prone to violence. It accommodates up 42 male occupants.
 
Mission
 
We strive to provide transitional accommodation and rehabilitation service for service users, and train them to be independent and self-sufficient.

Service User
 
Ex-mentally ill patients with a criminal record in HKSAR (ages 15 and above) who are in a good health with a stable mental state
 
Scope of Services
 
- Accommodation and meals
- Clinical appointment follow-up and medication
Individual and group therapy
-   Vocational counseling and job placement
-   Interest groups and activities
-   Social skills training
- Crime prevention training
- Independence training and social involvement activities
- Aftercare services
 
Fee
 
$1,220 per month
 
Application and Withdrawal
 

Referrals can be made by social workers of medical social services units, integrated family services centers, special schools or rehabilitation service units using the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services (CRSRehab.) All applications will be carefully reviewed by the halfway house committee.

The service is provided on a voluntary basis. Service users could apply for termination of service. On the other hand, social workers could also terminate the service upon their professional judgment and mutual agreement made with the service users.
